This course is intended for those with no previous accounting experience who need a basic financial awareness and to have a set of accounts demystified.
It will explain the real meaning of complex accounting jargon as well as providing delegates with the key financial skills they need to be able to understand the meaning of a set of accounts.

Demystifying accounts and finance - getting to grips with the terminology

• Accounting jargon explained - be able to speak to and understand finance departments
• Key financial measures explained - what are EBIT/gearing/profit margins?

Review of the financial statements
- Balance sheet, profit and loss account, cash flow

• What they tell you about the organisation  - the key messages
  - Profits/cash flow/funding
• How they are produced
• Why they are needed
• How they inter-relate
• Who uses them and why
